Main Stage OUTLIERS is an enormous communal bed inviting guests to sleep and dream together throughout the night. A floor-scape is composed of various soft materials while a subtly moving, mobile-like ceiling piece connects the earth and sky, inviting dreamers to outlying realms. The installation is hosted by three central characters in costume: two night watches who will tuck the arriving sleepers in, offering comfort and support, and a reader who will perform a ritual text, guiding the audience into an ethereal space in which connections between sleeping, dying, dreaming, and rebirth can be explored. "She is almost the size of the moon but with a feel for the sun. Rest there, in the quiet nothingness but for those monstrous temperatures which cook you clean. Feel your own silvery, shivering chords knock on the door of her heart and let her gently invite you in. She has now bid you access to her warmest and richest caverns. And you may know it. You are but a piece, a sliver. As you welcome the dark you may try to stylize your condition. To wrap it in thought. Is this a dream? Am I meditating? Am I en route to a new, and more evolved condition? Leave.that.alone. It is not yours to disseminate and you are furthermore a cooked vessel. Your bones have dried to dust, your blood has boiled and what remains of you and your organs floats in tiny dry flecks towards the ceiling in a grey fog of matter. You have positively evaporated. You become less and less 'you' until you are simply a thought in the breeze. You are without obligation, without form. You are no longer responsible and it is no longer necessary. You may go."
