Works from my Desire Collection, 2013
Part of the exhibition, Erogenous Zone, an ƒƒ project and a feature of the project Temporary Autonomous Zone /2/ Curated by Mathilde ter Heijne and Juliane Solmsdorf Galerie im Körnerpark and Pony Royal, Berlin. Erogenous Zone explores how women reflect upon and experience sexuality and eroticism today, and aims to create new contexts and frameworks for continued discussion about these topics. How can sexuality be depicted differently than what one would normally define as pornographic? How can women be represented in a non-submissive way? What is the difference between male-centric pornography and the erotic? Are there specific female forms of representations of sexuality or the erotic? Is there a different vision nowadays about sexual freedom in comparison to the 1970s? Can we build or define our own, new ‘Erogenous Zone’ from the works in this show? ƒƒ sees eroticism as an important element of our way of being in the world, creating art, and communicating. |
