The first application of this project took the subheading, Korede, Corazón, and was inspired by Korede Amojo's indelible character, wherein The Wand's founding director, Melissa Steckbauer invited him to participate in a project about love, exploring his relationship to the area of his home in Moabit. As a living, breathing artwork, Korede and Melissa co-created the project in August. The first lens was a view to Korede, documenting and processing information that he volunteered about significant people and places within his kiez. The next phase was an engagement of Korede with his community, wherein the resulting collection of images and objects were presented throughout the neighborhood. Relating to the kiez as a living entity with it’s own needs, challenges, and desires, this work was “written” as a love letter to Moabit. |
